Shimrit Melman

Adv. Shimrit Melman provides corporate representation and counseling, with particular focus on public companies, in various areas of corporate law, securities law and finance.

Adv. Melman regularly advises companies on their business operations in Israel and abroad, including the drafting of commercial agreements, investment agreements and shareholder agreements, advice to the board of directors and management of companies, provision of legal opinions and representation of companies before the Israel Securities Authority and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

In addition, Adv. Melman specializes in the different aspects of corporate insolvency and reconstruction, receivership and creditor arrangements and has extensive experience in assisting companies in difficulties. She has been involved in complex insolvency proceedings in Israel, including high-profile cases, among other things providing representation to court-appointed officers and legal counseling to companies and company officers in these areas.

Adv. Melman began her legal career as an intern in a commercial law firm in 2009, focusing mainly on litigation. Following her certification as a lawyer, she served as an attorney for the Tel Aviv and Central District at the Office of the Official Receiver in the Ministry of Justice, where she was responsible for all personal bankruptcy and corporate insolvency proceedings in the Tel Aviv and Central District Courts. Subsequently, she served as an attorney in the legal department of the Administrator General and Official Receiver Division of the Ministry of Justice, where she dealt with appeals to the Supreme Court, appearing also as counsel in these cases. In addition, she was involved in the resolution of market-wide insolvency issues and in the enactment of laws governing insolvency, including the Insolvency and Economic Rehabilitation Law, 5778-2018.
